Vape Detectors and Building Safety Provisions Vendor of Record Arrangement

September 10, 2024

Overview

Supply Ontario has established a new multi-vendor Vendor of Record (VOR) arrangement for Vape Detectors and Building Safety Provisions.

The VOR arrangement, which will become effective on September 3, 2024, is for a term of three years, with a one-year optional extension. There will be an annual refresh option after year two when additional vendors may be added to the VOR. This VOR arrangement is mandatory for the Ministry of Education and Service Ontario of the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement and is optionally available to non-OPS entities including municipalities, academic institutions, school boards, health care providers, and major transfer payment recipients.

The VOR arrangement will provide products and services related to vape detectors, and building safety equipment and services including lighting, cameras and motion detectors to service across Ontario. It includes eight qualified vendors over two service categories including one for vape detectors and another for building safety provisions.

Benefits

  • this VOR arrangement saves time, effort, and money by providing fast and streamlined access to vape detectors and building security provisions from multiple vendors with the necessary experience, qualifications, and infrastructure to support OPS requirements
  • the pre-qualified list of vendors can provide the necessary service throughout Ontario, providing choice to clients, while promoting competition through a second-stage selection process
  • this VOR supports school entities in their measures to tackle vaping in schools and safety concerns
