Supply Ontario is focusing on driving value through public procurement, strengthening the public sector supply chain, and supporting economic development in Ontario.
As part of this focus, the provincial government developed the Building Ontario Businesses Initiative (BOBI), a province-wide program that leverages the important role public sector purchasing plays in supporting local economies. BOBI creates a level playing field for local businesses who want to work with the public sector by providing them with greater access to procurement opportunities. Under BOBI, public sector entities like ministries, hospitals and schools must show preference to Ontario companies when buying goods and services under certain trade thresholds, strengthening Ontario’s supply chain resiliency, reducing our carbon footprint and protecting Ontario jobs.
